The Taure Elves of Bara Forest

    

Founding of the Taure

    Once there were 4 Grand Elf Kingdoms. The Ringwe war changed that. Elves of the Naladar and Tiaran elves fled into the Bara forest after the battle of Náras. With the grand city of Náras sacked by the Swadians and Sarranids of Men. King Tairon of the Naladar was slain and his line broken. Leaving only King Salembor of the Tiaran to lead the elves of the South. Fleeing deep into the center of the Bara forest in Swadia they found a large tree. Being forest dwellers, the Tiaran knew almost every type of tree. But this one, they did not know of. It was the largest tree they had ever seen, big enough to build a palace in. The first to enter inside the hollow tree was King Salembor, earning the tree the name Haran or King Tree.

Building of Aldeon

    King Salembor and his elves worked for decades to build a grand city inside and outside the King tree. He called his city "Aldeon." The Elves were gave themselves the name Taure or Forest Elves.

War for the Forest

    200 years after Aldeon was built, the Taure had their first interactions with men since the war. A large party of Swadian explorers marched into Aldeon with amazement in their eyes. King Salembor would not have his secret kingdom be found so soon and had the men and women killed and thrown in The Tigris river that ran through the edge of the forest. King Salembor had not realized that since his rule as King of Tiaran, The Kingdom of Swadia had built along the Tigris. The bodies, covered in elvish arrows, floated down the river until being found by a fisherman. They were taken to the grand mage in Praven and he discovered that these arrows were of elvish make. King James of Swadia then marched his army into Bara Forest. A skirmish was started when an elvish archer fired on the Swadian army and a battle soon broke out. The War for the Forest had begun. King Salembor took his best soldiers and drove the Swadian army out of the forest. What the Elves hadn't predicted is that the Swadian's had in fact, two armies. So when the large elvish army marched out of the forest, King James and his men stopped retreating and charged now having a large army led by the Prince Jamie of Swadia. The Elves fought bravely but the battle was not going in their favor. Knowing there was only one thing to do, the Prince of the Elves, Tarion, charged the enemy king and struck him down before being surrounded and killed. This crippled the morale of the Swadians and allowed the elves to be victorious. In fear of another war, and to end the current one, King Jamie declared Bara forest to be Taure Elf land.

Elves of the Forest

    After his sons death, King Salembor changed, becoming a more secluded and brutal ruler than he was before. He had large walls built around the center area of his forest and almost doubled his armies size. The elves ruled in peace in the forest, keeping an army ready in case any man dared to enter their sacred forest.
