The Kingdom of Rhodoks, the youngest Kingdom in Calradia, a newly formed Kingdom, previously a part of the Kingdom of Swadia, but independent through a successful civil war and revolt.
The Kingdom of Rhodoks is ruled by King Graveth and lies in the extremely mountainous and hilly south west of Calradia, just below Swadia. Its position which borders the Kingdom of Swadia and the Sarannid Sultanate make it often have to defend itself on two fronts.
The Rhodoks' extremely mountainous and hilly terrain have made them adapt their military to it in fashion. They field the finest defensive forces in all of Calradia, with Pikemen capable of stopping Swadian Heavy Cavalry charges dead in their tracks, and the very best Crossbowmen in all of Calradia capable of causing devastating casualties during battle against foes, both armored and unarmored. Rhodoks are the best siege attackers and defenders in all of Calradia. Swadian invasion attempts have routinely been halted by the extremely mountainous terrain of the Rhodok homeland, and Swadian castles simply do not possess enough firepower or equipment to compete against the superior Rhodok Infantry and Crossbowmen.
Rhodok mountains are home to Dwarven clans, who are hired by the Rhodoks as Siege engineers, smiths and pioneers, who bolster the Rhodoks' already formidable defenses. Thus the Rhodoks have a great relationship with the Dwarves and naturally regard all Dwarves as friends and allies.
Rhodok mages are primarily taught defensive magic, and secondarily taught offensive force based magic. Rhodok magic is primarily used to bolster the defensive strength of their Infantry, and secondly used to add to the lethal prowess of their Crossbowmen.
Rhodok armies primarily field the best defensive Heavy Infantry and the best Crossbowmen in Calradia, they field a combination of Pikes and Crossbows always fielded in extremely tight formation, making them the ultimate bane of any cavalry based force.
Any enemies daring to attack the Rhodoks will find themselves brutally murdered as they attempt to navigate the treacherously extreme mountainous terrain, thus effectively making the Rhodoks immune to attack by their neighbors.
Rhodok culture is a mirror of typical medieval culture, but with a heavy focus on trade.
